Ashburton Neighbourhood Police Report April 2013

ASHBURTON Neighbourhood Report April 2013

Over the past month there have been 61 incidents reported to us from Ashburton.

Of these, 28 were related to the A38 and road related issues.

From the town we have received 33 incident reports. These include 6 instances of antisocial behaviour, 5 domestic related offences, 5 violent crimes, 4 concerns for people’s welfare, 2 criminal damages, 2 burglaries and 1 missing person report. The other 8 were made up of miscellaneous incidents, such as sheep loose in someone’s garden.

On the 12th of April, there was a break in at the Conservative Club on St Lawrence Lane, although nothing was stolen the offender was swiftly caught and has since been charged.

There was a report of an incident involving a sword used during an argument on the 14th of April. Containment of the area was put on by local response officers and the offender was quickly disarmed and arrested by armed officers, the offender has since been charged to court.

Overall this month, we have seen a significant drop in the number of calls relating to antisocial behaviour. The local neighbourhood policing team are continuing foot patrols in the hotspots and are dealing robustly with any caught acting in such a manner.

From the Bickington area we have had no crimes reported to us.  There was 1 incident reported to us regarding a  neighbour dispute which was resolved peacefully.

Police surgeries will be held at the Community Hall in Ashburton, the next one being Tuesday 21st  May 2013 at 10.30am
